to the Boone

We have 18,856 songs in our iTunes library.  Eighteen Thousand Eight Hundred songs.  Fifty one days straight of music plays in our house without a song ever repeating.  You should be here for the dance parties we'll have someday.

About Eighteen thousand four hundred of those songs came from Lindsay.  So when we hit the genius button on any song, we owe the awesome forthcoming mix to her.

The best of friends impact you in small but significant ways.  There was a song that Heidi and I sang along to over and over on our wedding weekend.  By Pinback, it was on a mix cd in the volvo, from Lindsay.  That cd is still in the car and I still listen to it, 5 years later.  It never left me.

Some things just stay with you, some friends just stay with you.  So when you have a chance to see those friends you don't hesitate.  Last weekend Heidi and I took the girls, Barley too, 9 hours to Boone, NC to visit Jesse Lindsay Streeter and Rise.  The girls were all champs for the road trip.  The drive was easy and picking up where we left off with old friends was even easier.  We feel lucky to know the Millers.

As Evelyn said tonight at dinner,  "Barley Bear went to the Streeter's house."  We all went "to the Boone" last weekend and had a great time.  Below is a slideshow, enjoy!  Boone is a magical place.  Something about it.  The people, maybe?
