Soccer!

In our first real sporting commitment, we signed Lydia and Evelyn up for 8 weeks of Saturday morning Soccer from August through September.
Of course Juliet had to wear the outfit too.
Lydia got off to a slow start.  As in, didn't like practice, didn't like listening, didn't enjoy playing with others.  According to her, soccer "made her sweaty" and she didn't want to play anymore.  During one of the first games Lydia, no lie, asked her coach to take her out, so she could sit on the bench with her water.
Here she is, on the wrong side of the line.
Evelyn on the other hand took to it pretty quickly.
What she might have lacked in clean form,
she more than made up for with sheer aggression. Throwing elbows, knocking kids down, whatever.
She took this kid out with a sliding tackle that should have gotten her ejected.
You can't teach that.  Pure hustle.
As the weather got colder, Lydia warmed up to the game.
Missed the action shots here due to yelling and cheering,
but Lydia scored a goal.  Two actually (over the season).
There's pure joy in that stride there.
