End of Summer Fun

August began with the Seton Festival and the Indiana State Fair. It was so much fun to take the girls to these events this year. Evelyn was so into the rides! As soon as we walked over to the festival she spotted the ferris wheel and insisted on going on it. I have to admit I was a little skeptical that she would actually enjoy it, because she's never been on it before and it goes pretty high and fast! Plus, you usually end up sitting up top while they load more people, so images of my 2 year old screaming to get off popped in my head! But our brave girl joined daddy on the ride and she had a blast! She loved it so much that when she had to get off she started crying because she wanted back on. Daddy on the other hand I think was fine with one ride and feeling a bit queasy. We are doomed if Evelyn is a daredevil that likes to try all the roll coasters because neither of us can really stomach it! Lydia was perfect as she patiently sat in her stroller all night observing big sis and cousin going on all the rides. Funny thing was our brave Evelyn does not like fireworks! The loud booms made her want to go running inside!

The next weekend daddy took a Saturday off of work so we could enjoy a long afternoon at the State Fair. The girls loved the food and the animals. We spotted the rides, but distracted Evelyn to continue on so we could check out the kid area. She got to pretend to be a farmer gathering feed, milking a cow and selling her produce in the market.

The family outings are getting to be more and more fun as the girls interact and take part in everything around us. August is full of end of summer fun but we honestly can't wait for the fall. That means cooler weather, sitting by the fire, watching football, trips to the pumpkin patch, hot apple cider, and the start of the holidays!
