Sweet Whittlest Ehlke

Our sweet baby #3 has been making mama sit back and keep her feet up since Monday. At my 24 week appointment, due to some bleeding they decided it was best to be cautious and get another ultrasound to check my cervix length and the placenta. After that turned up that my cervix is shortened they sent me over to be monitored for contractions. Thankfully no signs of contractions but instructions to go home to bed rest. So I've been following doctors orders and went back to be checked again today. This appointment showed some improvement in cervix length but still left us with orders to be cautious. Minimize lifting, trips up and down stairs, and then when the doctor basically comments that we should have someone around helping with the girls while Jon is at work on the weekends it hits a little harder that we gotta do everything we can to keep me off my feet and keep Whittlest in place until full term. Who knows what the upcoming weeks will hold but we will do the best to control what we can and pray for continued good ultrasounds showing a normal cervix and growing baby. Could be that my body did this with each of the girls we just didn't know it, but it would surely explain my fast delivery history!

Thankfully I now have a job where I'm working from home and instead of sitting at my desk I've moved to my bed, so wonderful to have that freedom! We have lots of family support which is such a blessing. Home cooked meals, daycare pick ups, evening routine with added loving from aunties and Mimi. We are very blessed to have support but no doubt its still hard to sit back and let everyone do everything for you. But look at all these sweet pictures of Whittlest today all scrunched up and trying to eat his/her foot! He/she is worth everything!!
